balanced knife, where the
amount of steel removed
from the blade back during
design and machining is
proportionate to the amount
removed in the blade
grinding operation. Most
people only think of a single
balance plane when handling
a knife, front to rear. How
many times have we seen
someone put their finger at
the balance point in the
center of a knife and say,
wow perfectly balanced. Well,
that is only the X plane they
have considered, there is a
second and third plain called
Y and Z to consider when
designing and balancing a
knife. I have not overlooked
them. I look there first in my
designs. This knife is the
perfect example.
