Hey, Brad...

It's really beautiful and light as a feather. The
grain of the wood is rich with a natural sheen.
Glad you used restraint in not making it too
glossy and artificial. The tasteful carving/grinding
treatment around the perimeter of the bridge and
on the blade's spine is subtle, but exudes
elegance. Your nugget engraving is interesting
and I will be looking at it under an Optivisor when
I have a chance. The smooth three dimensional
pearl buttons give a really nice accent and
contrast to the other colors and textures on the
knife. Overall, it is exceptional work, Brad. I can't
help thinking I would like to commission a larger
rendition of this design, too. Maybe you'd be
willing to consider that down the line. I'm thinking
a 4"-5" blade might be highly useful and offer a
larger palette for your artistic expression.

The sheath is a treat in its own way. The brown
frame overlay conforms very closely to the black
base layer while sandwiching the frog skin, and
the stitching is not only functional, but attractive
against the Kydex.

This is a winning design, in my opinion. It is well
suited for making in different size ranges, I think.
The materials you use for each component of the
knife can be selected for the intended purpose of
the particular order. A tactical version might not
use wood for the frame, but it certainly could be
used as an overlay over various metals on the
side opposite the bridge, if desired. I have faith in
the architecture of the Anole. I hope it is one of
your hits and gets you the recognition you
deserve. BTW, noticed you posted it up on your
site. Nice!

Will be bringing the Anole to a family gathering
tomorrow. Think it will impress even the non-knife
folks among them with its aesthetics.

I forgot to mention how much I like the way you
made the grain follow the curve of the bridge. I'm
a big fan of this finish. It makes metal look more
refined and luxurious, as on an expensive watch,
reducing reflectivity while capturing light in its
minute peaks and valleys. Also neat is being able
to see the translucent pearl through the
portholes in the ironwood.

Well, that's my first impression. What do you
think?

Thanks for a great knife,

Gary
